I have just got a mind blowing revelation on BB. A BB member just told me, "I want a white coller Job".
It made me wonder for a minute, untill I understood. Why people make the choices they do when it comes to careers, and business types.
Everyday we r given impressions and perspectives on what's the good and bad in our choices of career. I want to ask why is there so much disparity in selecting just a job? Is the image so much important than being Just Useful to yourself/community.
Have we got so wrapped up in IMAGING that we have lost the whole thing about the VALUE. How can a farmer be less valued than a Consultant, is it cos one is perceived to be cleaner than the other? Meanwhile if there was no farmer there would be no Consultant. U confused?
What's a Farmers value? He grows the food u cook to sustain Ur life, what's a Consultant? He is an organiser. If there were only 2 professions in this world, I would rather be disorganised than malnourished!!! Or worse Dead.
Shouldn't farming be a more respectful occupation? Is it because he is dirty most of the time, becos his or her hand is in the soil, cultivating the delicious vegitables u devour in Eforiro that Ur mama makes? Why is it not to bad enough for u to put into ur precious body, the vegetables that r grown in the soil, to give u the life important vitamins? Why would a child go study Agriculture yet, they stay so far away from farming?
I think we all should stop being such hypocrites and start seeing those so called dirty collar jobs as the foundation of these so called white coller jobs.
When u r making choices on what types of jobs u take, or what type of business u venture in, u better consider the option of ur calling(talent+experience), cos if u go on the way of what looks good, u r sure not going to make it. If the Lord says, through the holy spirit, that u r a farmer and u go being a consultant!!! Don't be surprised if u don't achieve anything.
A job is a job, if u don't put value to it, it will have no value.
Most african parents in the bid to place their kids in the "good" place, kill Gods given talents, and later nag u on why they r not successful. I can't blame them, cos they were given the impression that there is good, rather than developing an attitude to seeing the benefits to the variety of industries that r available.
Do not choose a business just cos it looks good, I will put my bet to it it will fail. The only key for success is ur invested Time and effort and Talent!
